Media Gallery Manager uses the directories "img" and "thumbs" to cache thumbnails of local and remote images. They are automatically generated while browsing through the folders and galleries. Those cached thumbnails speeds up browsing through the folders and galleries dramatically once a thumbnail has been generated.

What is possible is to specify a directory where these thumbnails are stored. Go to View->Settings and on the General-tab specify a directory of your choice to hold the cached thumbnails.

After changing the cache directory in the settings you can savely delete the unwanted img and thumbs directories.
